Mustard Seed daycare center is a faith-based daycare. Our goal is to empower children in their relationship with God, social skills, and to feel loved when their loved ones are at work. God says if we have faith as small as mustard seeds the impossible becomes possible. Our children may be small, but they are mighty and impactful just like a mustard seed. My goal is to grow their confidence in God and in themselves.

About me!

My name is Brittany Semande, I have three beautiful daughters and a very supportive husband. My family is very important to me. However, my faith is everything. My whole life I thought I would be in health care. I have worked as a CNA’s and Med aide for 10 years. 7 out of those 10 years I worked at a nursing home in North Carolina until my life changed. Covid was hard, like many, covid rocked my whole world. In 2022 I was told to resign from my position because of the vaccine. (Looking back now I can say with confidence it was for the better.) After losing my job I soon started to work at a Church Daycare. I fell in love with the children and planning and teaching them. However, I felt like this daycare was more about money than the children. My girls hated this daycare, and I was seeing a lot of unacceptable things happening to the children. At this point I had many parents ask if I would start my own daycare. The thought never crossed my mind until I woke up at 2 in the morning and started typing my business plan. A passion was created that morning, that I knew was from the Lord. God used the opportunity of me losing my job to show me my true calling. That calling is empowering children in their faith and their parents!

Fast forward to a year later God has moved us from the Blue Ridge mountains to Sioux Falls SD. My husband is the lead pastor at Rustic Hills Church where the people are wanting to stand alongside of me to help empower your child!

My goal!

My goal for my daycare is to tell kids about Jesus while getting the loving care that they deserve. As a mom of three daycare always scared me, I wanted teachers to love and see my kids the way I do. Building a heathy and biblical environment for my staff will allow my staff to get refreshed daily with the hopes of an outpour of love and patience towards the children. My hopes are also to help parents along the way. Being a parent is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. With that being said, I want to give parents all the resources that I can to help their growth within their family. This can look like many things: holding a class with trained professionals, family nights once every quarter, and staff commutations about their child. Lastly, I want to impact marriages. If the marriage isn’t right, how can we be effective parents? Children are such a blessing but can busy us and we soon forget about our marriages. I want to offer a parents night out to go on dates without kids, allowing parents to focus on their relationships.

To sum up my goal, I want to build the now and next generation up to be successful in their faith, marriage, and in parenting. These three aspects of life are hard to maneuver through by yourself I want to stand by parents and help as much as possible while pouring into their children.

Why Mustard Seed Care?

Mustard Seed Care takes pride in providing gentle and loving care to your child. We are able to do this with lower ratios and having a nurse on staff. Our center believes that lower ratios help with the child’s behaviors and our staff. We will have a nurse Monday-Thursday 10am-5pm. We know children’s likely hood of getting hurt or sick at a daycare is high, so we are prepared for when that time does come.

We will not have part-time available, only full-time. We do have discounts for families who have more than one child in Mustard Seed Daycare Center: The second child gets $20 taken off, the third child gets $30. If you have more than three children in the center you will get $50 off.
